Michigan Gift Boxes and Baskets That Ship
Detroit Gift Store packs Michigan gift boxes by hand in Detroit and ships them across the US and to Canada. Most Michigan boxes come from Up North and stop at cherries and fudge. Ours put the Up North classics next to the city's own brands: Germack from Eastern Market, Koeze Cream-Nut from Grand Rapids, Kar's, Pop Daddy and Faygo Rock & Rye. Every box comes with a handwritten card.
What's in a Michigan gift box
The Michigan Box ($79) is the one for the cottage crowd: Germack dried Michigan cherries, Mackinac Island fudge, Koeze Cream-Nut peanut butter, Germack in-shell peanuts, Pop Daddy dill pickle pretzels, Kar's Sweet 'N Salty and a Faygo Rock & Rye. Everything in it is shelf-stable, so it travels in a plain box with no ice packs.
If the person on your list is from the city, The 313 Box ($79) swaps the cottage snacks for Detroit: Better Made chips, Vernors for a Boston Cooler, Sanders hot fudge and Germack cherry and praline nuts. For a client or a boss, The Woodward ($189) adds a leather journal and Detroit-roasted coffee.
Box or basket?
Most people search for a Michigan gift basket, and what arrives from almost every seller is a box. A wicker basket can't go through a carrier, so it gets packed in a carton anyway. We skip the basket and spend the money on what goes inside. Our guide to buying a Detroit gift basket covers what to check on any seller's page before you order.
Pick your own
You can also build one from our shelves. A half box is four items for $49; a full box is eight for $89. The Michigan-made food gifts guide explains where each brand comes from, if you want to choose with some background.
Shipping
We ship to all 50 states. The Michigan Box and The 313 Box also ship to Canada; Canada charges duty and tax on some gift parcels, explained in our guide to sending food gifts to Canada. Holiday order-by dates are in the shipping section.
